Mind Realm

by EarthRipelyy

You are sitting on your couch, watching the television. Your favorite TV show is airing right now. All well and swell, when suddenly the broadcast was interrupted by the news.
"We interrupt this program to bring you an important report. Police are now in pursuit of a dangerous man who is responsible for kidnapping a 12 year old girl named Jasmine Hault. Authorities request the public to remain indoors. In case you encounter the man, report to police immediately. He is armed and very dangerous."
Suddenly, you hear a knock on your door. It's very loud. Someone is actually banging on your door, and if it wasn't made of steel they would probably break it with their own hands.

You hesitate. You don't fully unlock the door and slightly open it. The stranger pushes you with the door and by that he bursts into your apartment.

The stranger is walking from door to door, banging on every door. Then he seems to be going back to your door. He bangs. You unintentionally let out a scream. He heard you. "Open this door now! Open it! Hurry up! He is chasing me! Please! He could come up here at any second!"

Then you hear the stranger say, "Do you think I didn't see the lights go off just now? You think I'm stupid or what?"
"What do you want?" you ask.
"I want to not get killed, please!"

[[Back to start->Beginning]]"I'm sorry I had to do that! I'm being chased!" he says.
"By whom?" You ask.
"Did they say anything about a police chase?"
"Yes, I just heard that on TV."
"Crap."
The man goes towards the window and looks outside.
"What are you doing?" You ask him. He doesn’t respond.
"Hello? Why are you looking outside and who the hell are you?"
A police car goes by and the man sighs with relief.
"Did you just-?"
“Did the criminal look like me?” he asks you.
“I think so,” you answer, very baffled. “Could be.”
"Listen, I don't have time to explain," the man says. "I'm probably framed right now. They'll say anything to make me look like the bad guy. But anyway, I need your help. You are a citizen, I am a citizen. We need to help each other."
"Why should I trust you? How do I know you're telling me the truth?"
"You're thinking in the right direction, and if it was any other case, I would not trust a stranger just like you. Did they say I'm armed and dangerous?"
"Yes, they did."
"I have no weapons. Never used any. You can check me. Look through my pockets, my pants, anywhere. See if there's something hidden."
You do a full body check on him, and indeed there was nothing that could even resemble a gun or a knife. Just some papers and a journal.
"See? Now, grab your car keys and let's get out of here before they realize I might be here."
___________________________________
[[Continue->Cont2]]For some unknown reason, you feel that you can trust this man. He seems honest.
You grab the car keys where you last left them and the man follows you to your car.
"Where to?" you ask while you are getting ready to start the car.
"The nearest highway. I'll direct you from there." He says.
"Alright."
And then a loud music starts.
"Hey, I don't mind the music," says the stranger, "but turn it down a little, we don't want to get too much attention."
"Right." You turn down the volume and you're on your way.
A little while passed, none of you said anything. You were getting close to a highway, but the stranger stops you because of the sudden traffic jam ahead of you.
"Shit, they're already blocking the exits." says the man. "Turn around. We don't want to go that way."
"The exit? But we're not even close to getting there."
"That's how they start the whole thing. Having the vehicles in the area blocked from even getting on the highway. It's hard to chase you when you can drive faster than them, but easier to spot you if you're already there and there are no other cars."
"Then... What now?"
"This is bad... This is very bad... We don't have much choice left..." The stranger held onto his head with great despair. "Shit. I'll have to ask him."
"Who?"
"Someone I really don't want to get involved with... But I don't have a choice right now. Okay. Go that way. Turn right. Now left. Straight ahead. This place. Stop right here."
You wondered if he was talking about some gangster. Once that person opened the door, you knew he wasn't. Something about the way he looked gave it away.
"Kent?" He says while looking at the man next to you. "What are you doing here?"
"Hello, Marvin. I have a favor to ask from you. In fact, maybe some favors."
"I saw your ugly face on TV. I'm not helping a criminal." He was about to close the door, when Kent stopped him.
"Listen," says Kent. "If it was any other day, I would not bother coming here at all. But something huge is going on. I'll explain in detail if you let us in."
He is looking at both of you, considering his next moves.
"Who is this?" He points at you.
"I'll explain if you let me in. I can't be seen outside. They'll take me away."
"Fine," says Marvin and lets you inside his house. "If this turns out to be boring, you will owe me an apology. You know about what."

[[Continue->Cont3]]"Sorry, you'll have to find another way." you say.
"Oh, c'mon man! I have nowhere else to go right now!" he says. "Do you want blood on your hands?"
...Well, do you?

(text-style:"shadow")[No, I better help this man.]
[[Open the door now->OpenNow]]You all sit in a basement where there is clearly very sophisticated technology. Monitors and all kinds of stuff you didn't know existed are in that basement. Marvin is probably some geek hacker.
"So what's going on?" Marvin asks.
"I would like to know as well," you say. "You didn't explain to me either."
"Now that I bought us some time, I can explain everything. A few days ago I was working at the gas station like always. There were no people around. Everything was kind of quiet. Then I saw some suspicious cars passing by. I was kind of bored and followed them with my custom-made drone on wheels. I was shocked to see the famous Piel Muerta.”
“The invincible gang snitch!?” Marvin looks shocked, just like you.
You heard his name on the news, like everybody did. He is well known for informing to the police about every large gang member in the city and some nearby cities, all while the gangs openly knew he was doing that. He didn’t even try to hide it.
Last news on him were that he is back in prison for the next 30 years.
“Yes, I was shocked too,” says Kent. “And I wanted to know what was going on, so I kept on eavesdropping. Whoever he was with, they were talking about sending him back to Russia. So I thought isn’t he Spanish? What the hell? Then they were talking about some Project “Denus” or “Deynces”. I didn’t understand a lot, I only figured they wanted to send people to space. So as I turned the drone around, they probably saw it and when the drone went back through the doors, they were there.
‘How much did you hear?’ they asked. I said, ‘Nothing! I heard nothing!’ They were pointing guns at me and saw how terrified I was, so I guess they realized I’m no threat to them. ‘If you heard anything, you didn’t. You never saw us, you never heard anything. You understand? Else, we will find you.’ So I nodded and they left. One of them must have tempered with the security camera because when I looked at it later, it was cut off right when they were about to enter the gas station. Now, I’m very curious by nature and have to find out the mystery no matter what. You know that, Marvin.”
“Indeed he is,” Marvin confirms. “I once said I had a mysterious past and he didn’t stop nagging me until I confessed that it was just a lie. He then went as far as snooping around my parents’ house because he didn’t believe me.”
“So, anyway.” Kent continues. “I was kind of reckless and just went and asked a bunch of cops about Piel. They all said he was in prison. The name of the prison? Nobody wanted to answer. So I dug up some more information. I did my research, but found nothing of a value. I didn’t notice and a few days passed by, with me being so obsessed with this, I missed my shifts and got fired.
“Today afternoon I heard someone trying to get inside my house. I believe it was them. So I grabbed everything I could and escaped. I was running around for hours. I tried hiding in buildings, but no one would open for me and so I ended up in a building where this guy lives,” he was referring to you, “and as I was searching for a place to hide, I came up with a plan, to drive away and hide in a middle of nowhere, but that was a no-go because they started blocking the highway. And so I came to you.”
“I see,” says Marvin. “What are you holding there?”
“This is a journal that I made. It contains some pieces of information, but they are all random, not making much sense. I also have various articles and possible number combinations. But I’m not too familiar with the computer field like you, so that’s probably why I couldn’t figure this out.”
“Let me take a look at that.” Says Marvin.
He examines everything carefully. He then approaches his computer and starts typing something.
“Did you figure out something?” Kent asks.
“You won’t understand even if I try to explain, so let’s just say that I might have a lead. It can take me days to figure this out, though.”
“Okay, well... Then. We still don’t know your name, stranger.” Kent suddenly is talking to you.
“Right. I’m-”
“No, don’t tell us.” says Kent. “Let’s keep it that way. My problem has nothing to do with you and I’m sorry I dragged you into this in the first place.”
“That’s okay.” you say.
“If you go home right now, we won’t be bothering you anymore since we don’t even know who you are. I also forgot where you live. So... If you want to, you can go and forget about everything. Or you can stay with us for now. It’s entirely your choice.”
___________________________________
[[Stay->Stay]]
[[Go Home->GoHome]]You decide to stay with them.
“I’m staying,” you smile. “It’s too interesting to miss out.”
“You’ll have to stay for a while then,” says Marvin. “because I won’t be able to solve it fast.”
“That’s fine, if you’re okay with me staying in your house.” you say.
“Oh, sure, that’s totally fine.” says Marvin. “If you want to drink, there’s beer upstairs.”
“I could use some drink alright,” you say.
“Be my guest.”
“Do you want some too?” you ask them.
“No.” They say together.
You find that weird but you go up and search for beer. You find a kitchen and there’s a refrigerator. You take the beer, take a sip and go back to the basement.
There’s a strange aura all of a sudden.
Kent and Marvin turn around and stare at you.
“What?” you ask.
“As a matter of fact..” Says Kent. “It was all just a huge prank.”
“What?” you ask again, this time with a different tone.
“Yeah, it was just a prank,” says Marvin.
“What are you on about? How can you come up with such a story?”
“Oh, we can.” says Marvin. “It was all planned a long time ago. We just wanted to have some fun.”
They suddenly approach you very slowly.
“Guys…? What’s going on?” you say, laughing, but you don’t find the situation funny. Not at all.
Their eyes are glowing, in a nonhuman way. You try to reach the stairs and go up, but they are not letting you do that.
“Stop! Don’t come near me!” You scream.
It’s pointless. They are letting out a strange noise, you can’t even tell what it is you hear, and then… and then… They stab you with something. You don’t know what it is, and you don’t really care because you’re dying. There’s blood underneath you and you are struggling to get up. It was a mistake, you think to yourself. ‘I shouldn’t have opened the goddam door…’ is what you last think of.
You’re dead.

[[Try Again?->Cont3]]You decide to go home.
“Well, I should probably go home now...” you say. “I have a job tomorrow...”
“I understand.” says Kent. “It’s probably what I would do too if I wasn’t the curious type. Well, It was nice hanging out with you,” he stretches out his arm and you shake hands. “As short as it was.”
“Yeah,” you say.
“Don’t worry, we won’t bother you anymore.” says Marvin.
“I’m not worried about that,” you say. “Well, I wish you good luck with finding what you need to.”
“Thanks,” They both answer at the same time. You find that a little bizarre, but you ignore this and you go home.
The next morning you get up and get dressed for work. You are a little curious so unconsciously you make a small detour while driving, and you pass by Marvin’s house. You see police cars and ambulance all over the place. There is also a crowd. You park your car nearby and approach the very end of the crowd.
“Excuse me,” you speak to a random lady. “Do you know what is happening here?”
“Yes,” she answers. “Two men were found dead in that house. Some dirty junkies. Nothing new.” Then she walks away.
Clearly they found some highly classified information and were targeted by a powerful organization. You decide to walk away and not attract too much attention to yourself. You continue to drive to work.
At work you can’t stop thinking about all of this. What did they discover and what kind of organization was behind it? You wonder if it’s even worth getting involved in. Of course you don’t want to get yourself killed but if you’re careful enough, maybe there’s a chance you will avoid the same fate as Kent and Marvin. However, it will require a lot of work and digging since you would be starting with little knowledge.

(text-style:"shadow")[Do you want to start investigating?]
[[Yes, right away-> InvNow]]
[[Not right now ->InvLater]]You consider your few options, trying to figure out how to look for answers without being discovered. Of course, there’s no guarantee you will avoid risk completely.
While taking short breaks, you search online on the company’s computer for Piel Muerta. You soon discover that not much information is given about him. There are many articles, but none of them mentions where he’s from or what crimes he committed, nor details on his court trials. It was as if his entire existence is just being that person who hands out gang members to the police. He has no background, no identity. It could be that he is some undercover cop, but if that was the case, they would either make his cover story more detailed and believable or just reveal his whole true story as a police officer. Something just seems off.
You leave your desk and go to the bathroom. You have to release your yellow liquid because it’s been too long. Then you wash your hands and splash some water on your face. There’s someone next to you who is also using the sink.
“Tough day?” He asks you.
“Yeah,” you reply.
“You know what always helps me go through with the day?”
“What’s that?”
“Imagining my next trip to Anosognosia.”
“Anoso- what?”
“Of course you can’t remember just yet. We all hope you will though.”
Then the man disappeared or walked away... You’re not sure what just happened.
You go back to work and finish all your chores. The day is over and you head back home, or at least it’s supposed to be your main objective when you get into your car.
While driving, you notice a suspicious looking car. It has “Dead” as a license plate. You stop at a red light and you take a quick glance at that car. There he was. The famous Piel Muerta. It seems he didn’t notice you looking at him.
The traffic light soon turns green and you have a chance to follow him without his knowledge. This could be a significant clue.

(text-style:"shadow")[Do you want to follow Piel?]
[[Follow ->YesFollow]]
[[Not following->NoFollow]]You hesitate about what your next moves should be.
First of all, you definitely must finish your work and go home. So you concentrate on what was left for you to do and you drive back home. You sit down on your couch with a beer in your hand. You certainly need a beer after what happened. You turn on the TV. Maybe there’s something on that will help you think. You see that your favorite TV show is on. That’s right, about this hour it’s always airing. Suddenly, you feel a strange Deja Vu. You already saw this broadcast yesterday. Then you recall that yesterday the show was interrupted by news, so they probably decided to air the same episode. Yes, that’s what it is. You are sure of that.
Then you hear a knocking on your door. Oh, god. What is happening now? Another Deja Vu? The knock isn’t as loud as yesterday though. You get up and check out the eyehole. It’s just the sweet neighbor from next door.
You open the door and she smiles at you.
“Hi,” she says. “I don’t mean to disturb you, but I have a problem with my door. Could you please go check it out? I called the landlord but he wanted me to be specific and I can’t explain what it is because I don’t know.”
“Sure,” you say. “I’ll check it out for you.”
“Thank you very much!”
You follow her to her apartment and while you’re walking she’s telling a story about her ranting the apartment with an old friend and how that friend moved away and left her alone dealing with a not very nice landlord. Then you arrive to the door and you wonder how she managed to tell so much in a short time.
“Here it is,” she says, breathless.
You stare at the door. There’s nothing wrong in particular. You try to move it and it moves just fine. You try to look for some malfunctions but there are none.
“The door seems fine..” You say. “What exactly did you notice that was wrong with it?”
“That’s weird.” She says. “I heard a noise while moving it. Let me do that.”
She touches the door and it immediately lets out some static noise while somehow the door was banging up and down.
“It’s not just me, right!?” She shouts. “You see it too, right!? Tell me I’m not crazy!”
“I… I see it perfectly well.” You say. “You’re not crazy.”
“Just what the hell is this?” She is confused just like you are.
There’s a silence for a few moments.
“You probably should remove this door.” You say. “But don’t tell it’s like this. Just say… That it’s broken.”
“Right,” She says. “That’s probably for the best.”
“A lot of weird shit is going on these days...” You say.
“You too?” she asks.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean… I’ve experienced some weird stuff too.” she says. “What kind of thing did you experience?”
You weren’t sure if you can trust her, but you doubted anyone else would believe you. Seeing that she has something strange going on around her, you decide to tell her what you saw and encountered. As you finish your story, she looks at you with a terrified expression.
“Something similar happened to me.” she says. “Some lady knocked on my door, made me drive her around the city. She said she was avoiding authorities because she had some kind of valuable information. I wanted to turn her in, but she kept on telling me how she saw Piel with some other people, and they were talking about Project Denyses. I felt she was telling the truth. We parted ways because she said she wanted to find out more and then this morning, I passed by the last place I saw her-her home- and there was the police and ambulance. I asked around, they said that a junkie was found dead. I’m still overwhelmed by the whole thing. And now this door… And you… What the hell is going on!?”
“I’m not sure yet.” You reply. “But maybe we should do some research.”
“Where the hell can we find any answers?” She says. “If we go to this Marvin’s house or to that Patricia’s house, we will be found out in a matter of seconds.”
“You are probably right, but we should take the chance. We had the same experience and we somehow got to know each other because of it. Maybe it was meant to be this way.”
“I tend to disagree with people I just met, but for some reason, I trust you and I know you are right.” She hesitates for a second and then says, “Alright. I’ll tag along. What do you have in mind?”
___________________________________
[[Continue->Plan]]You figure he won’t notice you if you stay far enough behind him. You drive slowly and carefully, casually letting other cars to pass by.
After a while you wonder where he’s heading to because it’s taking too long. It’s starting to get late. You might fall asleep if you go on driving because you are tired from work, but it’s probably going to be fine since the adrenaline is filling for the time being.
Then you notice that suddenly everything that represents the city is now gone. No street lights, no car lights. You have no idea where you are. In another city? Some highway? A dirt road? You can’t tell because it’s too dark. You can only see what’s in front of you and the distant car in which Piel drives.
A few more minutes pass, and Piel seems to be stopping. You also stop, far enough yet still too risky because if he looks at your direction, he will definitely see you. You watch the car carefully. It’s just standing there. Piel doesn’t seem to get out, or going back to the road. Just what is he doing?
Five minutes pass.
Ten minutes.
Twelve.
Twenty.
Thirty.
The car is still there. You have a strange feeling that you should get closer to it. There might be something important there.
___________________________________
(text-style:"shadow")[Go check out the car?]
[[Yes, of course->CarCheck]]
[[Hell no->CarNoCheck]]You decide it’s better not to risk yourself for whatever clue you could get from him. Also, now that you think about it, you are not that eager to find out what is going on. You start to think that maybe it’s better to forget about everything and just go on with your life. Obviously, whoever is trying to hide the truth has more power than you do.
And so, you drive back home and try to forget about everything. At first it doesn’t go away, obviously, but slowly you find yourself more and more occupied with work and social life.
You start to hang out with your next door neighbor Milly. She is very fun and sweet. You wonder how come you didn’t get to know her earlier, but it doesn’t really matter since you are now together.
A week later you start to forget about the whole experience. You don’t care anymore because Milly is on your mind more than anything.
Then 2 weeks pass by.
A month.
Six months.
3 years.
5 years.
You are married to Milly and have 2 children, a boy and a girl. You are happy. Very happy.
However, there is something that bothers you but you don’t know what exactly.
What happened before you met Milly? It’s all blurry, for some odd reason. You are sure that something happened, something important, but you don’t remember anymore. Does it matter? Does anything matters at all? Does this life matter? Is there a meaning to any of it? You don’t want to think about it, so you live your daily-routine and after a few more years, you aren’t even aware that not long ago there was something that bothered you.
(text-style:"underline")[40 years later:]
You are now a proud grandfather. Having your children and grandchildren visit you and Milly during holidays and birthdays are the most precious moments you could ever wish for. You know that soon you will die and every second is worth treasuring.
The day has come. You are lying in your bed, sleeping. Your mind drifts away to an unknown destination. You are calm.
(text-style:"blur")[Everything around you no longer makes any sense, but that’s okay. You knew it will be like this. You hear voices, but you don’t recognize them. That’s also fine. Wherever you are right now, everything you once knew doesn’t exist anymore. Your own existence may not exist anymore. But you can’t tell because you don’t feel anything. No more thoughts, No more sensations. No more presence.
There is nothing. And nothing will go on forever.]
(text-style:"blurrier")[The End.]You carefully walk towards the car. As you approach closer and closer, you start to realize that nobody’s there. Piel disappeared somehow.
You open one of the back doors of the car and you see that there’s something lying there. A thick folder with probably a lot of documents. On top of it you see a small note that says “Hurry up, get in this car and drive straight. Look through the files as you drive.”
You trust this note and you do exactly as it says. As you go through the files, you see photos of yourself, but you don’t remember those moments. You are sure none of these events ever happened to you. So how come they exist? You look some more. There are faces you’ve never seen before. Who are they?
You enter a tunnel. It’s dark, yet you still can see what you are holding in your hands. Places that look familiar, words that are so different from what you know yet you understand them, human history you don’t remember- all filling your consciousness. As you go further the tunnel, you see a light. A bright light. Something tells you to follow it. Something else tells you it’s dangerous.
You still follow the light.
It’s becoming too bright.
Then for a moment there’s nothing.
A strange person is standing in front of you. He smiles at you, makes you feel safe and comfortable.
“Remember.” He says. Or is it you who says that? “Try to remember. Your life, your true life was different than now. You were given a chance to figure out everything. That incident with Piel Muerta was meant for you to follow the path of truth.”
“Was he real?”
“No. Think about his name.”
“Piel Muerta?”
“Dead Skin.”
“Right.”
“He was a temporary being. He was made especially for you to witness this incident.“
“But why?”
“Because you need to find out the truth. You must acknowledge it. Acknowledge and wake up.”
“My name...”
“That’s right. Your name.”
“My name is Amets.”
“It means ‘dream’. You were dreaming the whole time. You must wake up. Take a look at the photos again.”
You look at the photos. They start to look very familiar.
“That’s right… I… I am...”
Everything began to shake and your mind drifted in the right direction. The world you knew is now gone and there is a new world to which you woke up to.
___________________________________
[[Continue->Endiing]]You back away and drive back home. You don’t want to get too involved. The problem is that you might have already got yourself too involved with this case. You try not thinking about it too much.
At last, after some time of trying figure out how to get back to the city, you find yourself back home. You get out of the car and go inside the building. As you get closer to your apartment, you notice something red on the floor. You see someone lying down and not moving. You run towards the person, and you see that it’s your next door neighbor. You yell: “Hey, wake up! Wake up!” while checking her pulse. She is probably dead. You reach your phone to call 911, when suddenly someone knocks you out.
You wake up to find yourself tied up to a chair. You try to free yourself but you can’t. You hear footsteps so you stop trying. A man is now standing in front of you.
“Do you know who we are?” He asks you.
“No,” You reply.
“How much do you know?”
“About what?”
“Don’t play games with me. Obviously you’ve obtained some information. Spit it out. Now.”
“I don’t know anything. Honest.”
“Will you try to find out if we let you go?”
“Probably.”
“We can’t allow that.”
“I know.”
“Are you sure you didn’t figure out the truth?”
“Yes. If I knew, I wouldn’t be here.”
“Now, why do you think that?”
“I don’t know. It’s just a hunch.”
“Well, we can’t let you catch on any further. So I’m afraid you’re going to have to die.”
“That’s okay.”
He pulls out a gun and shoots you in the head.
You’re dead.

[[Try again?->YesFollow]]You open your eyes and see strange creatures with strange clothes.
“Where… am I?” You say quietly because you feel weak.
“We will tell you, but you need to freshen up first. You were sleeping for a very long time.”
They helped you get up and you felt too dizzy to move by yourself. So they escorted you to a bathtub, then let you eat and drink as much as you needed. You were anxious to hear the whole story. Your memories returned and it’s clear that wherever you are right now is not the same place where you lived your whole life.
Somebody approached you and said, “Hello, Kent. I’m Ezir, the intergalactic relation manager. I will explain to you everything.”
“Please do,” you say. “I’m slightly confused right now.”
“First of all, you are now at the planet Mertigoj. There are no humans here. Or anywhere, actually. You are the only living human in the entire universe.”
“What happened to humans?”
“There was a major catastrophe on your original planet Earth. Your scientists have sent you to space with a chip inside you that contains information of your planet and humans. This was in hope of finding a solution in case of extinction. Our space travelers has found you and brought you here to investigate this. We looked into your planet’s information and tried to reach out to humans. Unfortunately, we were unable to locate planet Earth. It seems it has vanished forever. We wanted to wake you up and hear your opinion as a human on the matter, so we created the situation in your mind for you to follow the right path and find out the truth in order to wake up without a brain damage. Even though your mind fought us by creating enemies, you have successfully woken up. And now I must ask, do you feel we should help you bring back the human race to the universe? “

[[No Point->HappyEnd2]]You think for a while and reply, “Yes, absolutely. Humans are valuable and can contribute to the universe. We created so much in the last years as I remember them. Humans should definitely go on living.”
“Very well.” Says the strange looking alien. “We shall help you recreate the human race. We will need a sample of your DNA so we can proceed.”
You let them take a DNA sample out of you. While they are busy making humans, they also busy making a new Earth.
You are an honored guest at their planet and you live like a king for the rest of your life, observing a life that you couldn’t possibly imagine.

The End.
“There is no point in that now, is there?” you ask.
“Maybe, maybe not,” says the strange looking alien. “Sure, we will have to create you a whole planet because I doubt anyone would accept you humans, who are long extinct. But your existence won’t cause too much trouble.”
“Trust me, I know us humans and we are no good. We’ve never been good. Constant disagreements that lead to war and crime, hatred for each other… No matter how much time passes, we can’t get along, so we probably won’t get along with other planets.”
“Alright.” The alien somewhat understands you. “Well, you are welcomed to stay here and enjoy your life. We can estimate how many years you have left.”
“I prefer not knowing,” you say.
“Your humans were probably as weird as you.”
“Definitely.”
You are an honored guest at their planet and you live like a king for the rest of your life, observing a life that you couldn’t possibly imagine.

The End.
You thought up a plan. While Milly (your neighbor) distracts the policemen guarding Marvin’s house with some questions, you sneak inside his house and search for information. It was a simple plan, but it went well.
You gather with Milly far enough from the house and tell each other your findings.
“They probably confiscated just about everything because I couldn’t find anything valuable.” You say. “Just maybe a few passwords, which I’m not sure of their origin. What about you?”
“They told me that some weird looking secret service men were here earlier and took some evidence. It happened not so long ago and their next destination was Patricia’s house. We should go there now.”
“Yes. Then maybe we will catch them and the evidence.”
You enter your car with Milly and she directs you to Patricia’s house.
As you get closer to that lady’s house, you notice a strange vehicle parked outside. This is probably their car. There is nobody near it. You decide it’s your opportunity to grab all the information. So you get out of your car and walk towards theirs. Suddenly, you see two men walk outside the house. You turn around and run back to your car. Unfortunately, they notice you and pull out their guns.
You manage to drive away before they could hurt you, but you don’t drive too far, since you must obtain the information. You hide and wait on those secret service men to head to their destination.
“What if they see us?” Milly asks.
“Then we’ll have to fight them.” You say. “Although I don’t have any weapons.”
Milly closes her eyes and seems to be concentrating on something.
“What are you doing?” you ask her.
“Allowing us having a fair chance.” She says.
You can’t believe your eyes but she is now holding two guns.
“What the hell?” you can’t even tell what’s real anymore.
“After I remembered who you are,” says Milly, “I remembered who I am.”
“And who are we?”
“Let’s just say that you are a soul and I am your guardian angel.”
This is all very confusing at the moment, but somehow you feel that you should obtain that information no matter what.
You see their car and it drives for a short distance, then stops. Those men come out and start shooting at you. The front window shattered and you have no choice but to exit the car. You and Milly get out and hide behind your car. Both of you shoot at them back. After a while Milly seems concerned.
“It will go on forever, unless we do something,” she says.
“What are you suggesting?”
“You cover me and I will take them down for sure.”
You shake your head. “No. This is too dangerous. I can’t let you do that. It should be me.”
“Please,” she says in a convincing tone. “Let me. It’s my purpose.”

[[Sacrifice Milly->DeadMilly]]
[[Sacrifice yourself->DeadYou]]You don’t want her to do that, but you feel it should be this way.
You nod. She nods back.
“When I say,” she whispers.
“Okay,” you say softly.
She waits for a while. Then she says, “Cover me now.”
You try to aim as best as you can at those scumbags and Milly runs as fast as she can. Loud gun shots are heard from every possible angle. You run out of bullets and suddenly everything went quiet. You take a quick glance at their direction and you see them lying on the ground, but you can’t see Milly. You guess that it’s safe to come out so you do and approach their car. There’s blood everywhere. Those men are dead. But where is Milly? You look for her. Then you find her. She is also lying on the ground, wounded but still alive.
You gently hold her in your arms. She is coughing blood.
“Now...” She whispers, “You can find your truth. Then you will wake up and you will see… You will see… Your true world matters more…Remember… That forest from your childhood…”
She grasps at her last breath and her now dead eyes are staring back at you. You close them with your hand.
“Thank you,” you say. “Thank you for everything.”
You leave her and check the car. There it is. The photo you need to see.
You remember your childhood secret hideout. It was in the middle of the forest, where there were no people, no wild animals, not even birds. You wonder why was it always empty? Why did this quiet place always make you relax to the extend of having no thoughts at all? You were hiding there whenever you needed... Whenever you felt nobody would help you...
And you were happy… So happy…
This memory crashed into another memory. A memory from a different life. The very same forest was as if from a different dimension. It was still your childhood secret hideout, but it was so different. There were animals. There were friends. There was family. There was a completely different history. Different language. Different countries. All of which you have forgotten when you entered the door. That door opened you a new world, a temporary door. Now that you fulfilled your mission, you must return to your original world.
You see a light. A very bright light. All the information collapsed and you finally wake up.

“No!” She screams. “Amets! No!”
Then you feel it. The bullet that goes through your chest. Somehow you can still breathe for a few minutes. Milly runs to you. She cries.
“What have you done?” she is sad and mad at you.
“I am not worthy if I make you a prey.” you say.
(text-style:"blur")[“I told you I’m your guardian angel. And a guardian angel is supposed to protect the human with the soul.”
“I’m not sure what you mean… But I’m glad I didn’t let you die.”
“You will never know the truth now.” She says.
“That’s okay...” you say. “As long as you get to live… I’m fine with that...”
She continues to cry. You feel her tears on your cheeks. It’s comforting. The truth doesn’t matter. Not anymore. You smile and believing she will live, you let out your last breath and then your heart stops beating.]
